Getting a sharper, larger version of a GIF

How to upscale a GIF frame
Open the GIF in any image viewer or editor and export the frame you want as a PNG. PNG keeps every one of the GIF's colours without adding compression, so nothing is lost in the conversion. Then drop that PNG into ClarityUp 4K and upscale it like any other image.
Dealing with the 256-colour limit
GIF colour banding and dithering dots get larger when a GIF is upscaled. A small noise reduction pass softens dithering, and Deep Enhance can smooth banded gradients.
Animated GIFs
The tool works on still images, so an animation would need each frame exported and upscaled individually; batch mode helps with a handful of frames.
